Removal and Installation

Disconnecting Hoses, Cable, etc.:

REMOVAL
- Disconnect battery negative cable at battery.
- Drain cooling system.
- Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle valve lever and cable bracket.
- Remove AFM outlet hose.
- Disconnect TPS coupler.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body.
- Disconnect engine cooling water hoses from throttle body.
- Remove throttle body from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
- Clean mating surfaces and install throttle body gasket to intake manifold. Use new gasket.
- Install throttle body to intake manifold and tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.

FASTENER TORQUE 18 - 28 N-m (1.8 - 2.8 kg-m, 13.0 - 20.0 lb-ft)

- Connect water hoses.
- Connect vacuum hose.
- Connect TPS coupler securely.
- Install AFM outlet hose and clamp it securely.
- Install accelerator cable to throttle valve lever and cable bracket.
- Adjust cable play to specification. Refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
- Refill cooling system referring to Section 6B.
- Connect negative cable at battery.
