1. Start engine, then depress brake pedal a few times.
2. Apply approximately 66 lbs. load to brake pedal, and measure pedal arm to wall clearance, ``B,'' Fig. 6.
3. Clearance should not exceed the following:
a. On Samurai models, 2.95 inch (75mm).
b. On Sidekick models, 5.12 inch (130 mm).
c. On Swift models, 2.36 inch (60 mm).
4. Possible causes for a low pedal are:
a. Worn rear brake shoes.
b. Brake lines need bleeding.
c. Booster pushrod out of alignment.
d. Rear brake shoes malfunctioning.
