Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments

Fig. 15 Adjusting Back Drive/interlock Cable:

1. With cable nuts A and B loosened, shift selector lever to Park, Fig. 15.
2. While pulling outer cable, as far as possible, in arrow C direction, Fig. 15, align nut B with bracket and tighten lock nut A. When pulling cable, release shaft spring in steering lock should be depressed fully.
3. Check the following:
a. Ignition key can be turned from Accessory to Lock positions and removed from key cylinder when selector lever is in Park.
b. Key cannot be turned to Lock position when select lever is in any other position than Park.
