EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The EGR Control Solenoid will either allow vacuum to pass to the EGR-Back Pressure Transducer (EGR-BPT) Valve or vent the vacuum based on signals from the ECM.

LOCATION
On the intake manifold.

OPERATION
The EGR Control Solenoid has two modes; it is either energized by the ECM and vents vacuum or it is de-energized and allows vacuum to pass to the EGR-BPT Valve or is DE-ENERGIZED (allows vacuum).
