Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair
Accelerator Cable Adjustment1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature. And check to make sure that fast idle control cam is off cam follower lever, if not check fast idle control system.
2. With throttle valve closed, check accelerator pedal play "a" which should be within the following specification. If measured value is out of specification, adjust accelerator cable (1) so as pedal play to be within specification with cable adjusting nut (2) Then tighten lock nut (3).
3. With accelerator pedal depressed fully, check clearance "b" between throttle lever (2) and lever stopper (throttle body) (1) which should be within the following specification. If measured value is out of specification, adjust it to specification by changing height of peda1stopper bolt (3).
