Drive Pulley: Service and Repair
COOLING FAN, FAN CLUTCH AND WATER PUMP PULLEYREMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
2. If equipped with A/C or power steering system, drain cooling system by loosening drain plug of radiator.
3. If equipped with A/C or power steering system, disconnect radiator inlet hose from radiator.
^ When servicing vehicle equipped with A/C, remove A/C pipe mounting bolts.
4. Remove radiator shroud securing bolts (4 pcs).
5. Remove cooling fan securing nuts and loosen water pump belt tension.
6. Remove cooling fan/clutch, radiator shroud and water pump pulley.
WARNING:
- Be careful not to damage radiator fins.
INSPECTION
Inspect fluid coupling for oil leakage. If necessary, replace fan clutch assembly. Do not disassemble clutch assembly.
INSTALLATION
Install removed parts in reverse order of removal procedure.
^ After installation, adjust belt tension for specification and tighten each bolt and nut securely.
Tightening torque
(a): 11 Nm (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)
^ Refill cooling system with proper coolant.
^ After installation, check each joint for leakage.
