Ignition Coil Replacement - Bank 2

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the air fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LCS) (Service and Repair).
2. If replacing number 4 or number 6 ignition coil, remove the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement (HP7) (Service and Repair)Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement (HP5) (Service and Repair).
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1) from the ignition coils.




4. If removing the number 6 ignition coil (1), disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air line (2) from the camshaft cover.




5. Remove the ignition coil bolts.
6. Remove the ignition coils.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ignition coils.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the ignition coil bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




3. If the number 6 ignition coil (1) was removed, connect the PCV fresh air line (2) to the camshaft cover.




4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1) to the ignition coils.
5. If number 4 or number 6 ignition coil was replaced, install the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement (HP7) (Service and Repair)Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement (HP5) (Service and Repair).
6. Install the air fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LCS) (Service and Repair).
