Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the electrical connector (6) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve (5).
2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.




3. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve bolt (1).
4. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (3) and gasket (2) from the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve (3) and gasket (2) to the intake manifold.
2. Install the EVAP canister purge valve bolt (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.
4. Connect the electrical connector (6) to the EVAP canister purge valve (5).
