Air Outlet Duct - Defroster

AIR OUTLET DUCT REPLACEMENT - DEFROSTER

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Set the HVAC controls in the VENT mode to close the defroster door.

IMPORTANT: The defroster door must be closed to allow clearance during defroster duct removal.

2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier.




3. Remove the defroster outlet duct bolts.




4. Using the J 38778 remove the defroster outlet duct retaining clips.
5. Remove the defroster outlet duct from the I/P carrier.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the defroster outlet duct to the I/P carrier.




2. Install the defroster outlet duct bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 1.2 N.m (11 lb in).

3. Install the I/P carrier.
