Bleeding Brake System
Bleeding must be carried out in the following sequence: right front, left rear, left front and right rear wheels.1. Unscrew cover of brake fluid reservoir, then connect topping-up assembly (part of brake bleed unit kit part No. 88 19 096) to reservoir.
2. Disconnect ECU connector. Plug connector of breakout box into ABS connector for ECU.
3. Connect wiring loom 1, part No. 86 11 212, to pins 1, 34 and 15 of breakout box.
4. Connect wiring loom 2, part No. 86 11 212, to pins 18, 36, 21 and 2 of breakout box.
5. Connect pin 1 when ignition is switched On. Run pump for 1 minute. Connect battery terminal 20 seconds after pump has started to ensure outlet valves are opened.
6. Disconnect battery terminal after 20 seconds and pin 1, 60 seconds after pump has started.
7. Switch ignition Off.
8. Bleed system using bleeder unit (part No. 88 19 096).
9. After bleeding is complete, reconnect ECU connector.
10. Turn ignition switch to On position. Ensure ABS warning light goes Off.
