Procedure

1 Open the tailgate.

2 Screw in the rubber spacers as far as possible.

3 Screw out the rubber spacers three complete revolutions.

4 Close the tailgate and check the closing force.

5 Open the tailgate.

6 Remove the tailgate handle and the tailgate trim.

7 Fit the self-adhesive foam spacer from the service kit on the panel under the pull rod, between the lock cylinder and the link stay.

8 Loosen the white plastic end piece from the central locking system motor.

9 Roll butyl tape (included in the service kit) to a 5 mm ball and press the ball into the plastic end piece.

10 Press the plastic end piece onto the central locking system motor.

11 Replace the bulb sockets on the left and right side with new sockets from the service kit.

12 Remove the connector for the license plate (number plate) lighting and remove the decor panel.

13 Fit the washers from the service kit on the two lower. outer bolts on the decor panel.

14 Fit the decor panel and plug in the connector for the license plate (number plate) lighting.

15 Fit the tailgate trim and the tailgate handle.

16 Remove the parcel shelf.

17 Replace the two hinge bolts for the parcel shelf with new bolts from the service kit.

18 Refit the parcel shelf and close the tailgate.
