Background
Should a customer complain of noise or rattling from the rear of the car, follow the appropriate procedure below to address the complaint.
The noise may be caused by one of the following alternatives, or a combination of them:
1 Tailgate vibrates
Spacers on the tailgate do not have sufficient contact with their seats in the body.
2 Rattling/squeaking from the tailgate:
^ Excessive clearance between the pull rod from the lock cylinder and link stay.
^ Excessive clearance between the white plastic end piece and the central locking system motor.
^ Bulb sockets loose in the rear light clusters.
^ Decor panel comes into contact with rear light clusters.
3 Rattling noise from the parcel shelf
Excessive clearance between the parcel shelf and the hinge bolts.
