A test instrument for troubleshooting the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is now available.

ABS Tester 89-96-514

The ABS tester will run an automatic check of the car's ABS wiring harness, ECU, sensors and the pump assembly. The tester can also be used to monitor and compare individual wheel sensors for out-of-round, amplitude and speed. If a fault is detected during the automatic check, it is displayed in the form of an error code on the screen. The error code is matched to a particular troubleshooting routine or repair procedure. Error code interpretation is located in the accompanying service manual.

The ABS tester has been assigned as a required special tool. One tester will automatically be shipped to your dealership during the first week of December 1987. The tester and service manual are stored in their own plastic case and should be kept in a safe place.

As with other parts, this tester has a 12 month warranty. A spare parts listing is given in the parts microfiche and the service manual. Fill in and return the registration card included with the tester to ensure enrollment in the Specifications Update Program.
