Brake Pad: Service and Repair





REMOVAL
1. Release handbrake.
2. Lift the car and remove rear wheel.
3. Remove the adjusting screw's threaded plug, unscrew the adjusting screw.
4. Remove the covers from the guide pins and unscrew pins. Use 7mm Allen wrench.
5. Remove the hydraulic body retaining clip.
6. Lift off the hydraulic body and remove the brake pads.





INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces between the carrier and pads before refitting.
- Press the brake pedal to press out the pads toward the disc.

1. Fit new brake pads to hydraulic body.
2. Refit the hydraulic body to carrier.
3. Fit the guide pins and tighten them.
- Torque to 27.5 Nm (20.5 ft lb).
- Fit covers in place.
4. Fit the hydraulic body retaining clip.
5. Adjust the handbrake as follows.
- Remove the adjusting screw's threaded plug.
- Tighten the adjusting screw all the way in and then back it off 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
- Check that the brake disc can rotate freely.
- Screw the threaded plug back in place.
6. Fit the rear wheel.
- Torque to 120 Nm (89 ft lb).
