SUBJECT: CORRECTION TO 9000 SERVICE MANUAL, SECTION 4:2, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

APPLICATION: ALL 9000 MODELS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The Service Manual procedure for replacing the ZF automatic transmission oil pump contains some incorrect information. On page 472-40 of Service Manual Section 4:2, Step 6 states "Fit new pump gears." However, the oil pump gears are not available separately. Only a complete oil pump assembly with matched gear wheels and pump body is available for repairs.

The attached correction sticker should be placed in your dealership copy of this service manual section, on page 472-40. Place the sticker in the middle of the page so that it replaces Step 6. A copy of the sticker is printed below.


6 Fit new pump assembly consisting of matched gears and pump body. Note the installation positions of the gear wheels.

NOTE

A damaged intermediate plate cannot be replaced. In case of damage, the complete transmission must be replaced.
