Band: Adjustments
PUSHROD FOR ADJUSTING BRAKE BAND CNOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.
Adjusting/Fitting
1. Install the O-ring on the dowel and install dowel in housing.
- Some versions have two O-rings.
2. Screw in the adjusting screw.
- Tightening torque: 10 Nm (88 inch lbs.)
IMPORTANT: While tightening, cylinder B should be turned. Otherwise, there is a danger of the brake band becoming misaligned.
3. Mark both the adjusting screw and gear case.
4. Back off the adjusting screw two turns.
5. Install the nut.
- Hold the adjusting screw while tightening the nut.
- Wrench size = 22 mm.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
6. Install valve body and valve body cover.
