INSTALLATION
1. Place the steering column shaft with steering wheel lock in position. Connect the connector to the ignition switch. Ensure that the steering column shaft fits in the lower bearing in the steering column assembly and sticks out approximately. 3O mm so that the universal joint can be fitted.
2. Fit the transversal bolt together with handle and washers.
Tightening torques: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
3. Fasten the circlip at the lower end of the steering column shaft.
4. Fit the universal joint between the steering column shaft and the intermediate shaft. Ensure that the bolt in the lower pinch bolt clamp is pulled below the stop lug at the intermediate shaft end. Adjust the play between the universal joint and the steering column shaft.
Tightening torques: 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)
The play should be 3 - 5 mm (O.12 - 0.20 inch).
5. Fasten the floor ducts.
6. Fit the acoustic insulation under the facia.
7. Fit the mounting with dip switch. Pay attention to the adjustment of the horizontal position of the mounting.
8. Connect the connector to the dip switch.

9. Cars with airbags, fit the contact roller to the mounting. Connect the connectors for the horn and the airbag (orange).

IMPORTANT: The contact roller is perishable. Treat it as such.

13. Car with airbag, turn the contact roller counterclockwise to the end position. The turn it halfway back, approximately. 2.5 turns clockwise.
14. Fit the steering wheel. Cars with airbag, thread the cables through the hole and set the steering wheel position at the same time as the contact roller fits against the steering wheel. Tighten the steering wheel nut.
Tightening torques: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
15. Cars with airbags: Connect the horn connector. Connect and fit the steering wheel airbag and tighten to 7 Nm(5 ft. lbs.).

16. Connect the battery cable. Connect the ISAT Scan Tool to the data link connector and erase all remaining diagnostic trouble codes. Turn on the ignition and wait at least 10 seconds with the ignition on. Check that the SRS lamp is on for 3 - 4 seconds and then goes off. Check that the SRS lamp does not indicate a fault (stays on constantly).
17. Remove the ISAT Scan Tool
