Please make the corrections to Page 810-5 of the 9000 Section 8:1 Body, Bodywork Repairs Service Manual (P/N 03 45 827):
We also offer the following clarification regarding permissible welding joint locations in the 9000 body in order to retain the integrity of the reinforcement members after repair. Please make certain a copy of this bulletin is placed in Section 8:1 Body, Bodywork Repairs Service Manual, 03 45 827. Also, refer to PSI 12/92-0292 (Sec. 8, p. 55) for additional information.
The permissible joint locations are indicated below and in the illustration.
1. The A-pillar should be cut and joined in the middle. See Figure 1-1.
2. The roof and sunroof can be cut and joined in the center of the sunroof opening. See Figure 1-2.
3. The windshield frame should be cut and joined at least 150 mm from the centerline of the A-pillar. See Figure 1-3.
4. The upper end of the B-pillar should be cut and joined at least 150 mm from the centerline of the B-pillar. See Figure 1-4.
5. The sill should be cut and joined at least 150 mm from the imagined extension of the centerline of the A-pillar. See Figure 1-5.
6. The lower end of the B-pillar should be cut and joined at least 200 mm from the centerline of the B-pillar. See Figure 1-6.
7. The inner sill should be cut and joined at least 150 mm from the centerline of the B-pillar. See Figure 2-1.
8. The seat member should be cut and joined in the middle. See Figure 2-2.
