THE CAMPAIGN
The Defect
Saab-Scania has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a defect which may be safety-related exists with late 1986 to early 1987 900S and 900 Turbo models.
The defect is that the fuel hose between the pressure regulator and injecter fuel rail may rupture due to stress resulting in a fuel leak, and possibly, a fire.
These vehicles are being recalled by Saab-Scania of America to install a new design of this hose.

CLAIM PROCEDURE
Claim Forms
Owner notification letters were sent inside a Saab claim form/mailer. The preprinted 269 claim form is to be used by your dealership. This is necessary for payment and to complete our recall records and update our periodic recall reports to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Records are subject to Federal (NHTSA) audit.
If the owner has lost the claim or it is otherwise unavailable or unusable, contact your Saab Regional Service Office and request a new Recall 269 claim form. If the supply of preprinted forms for 269 are exhausted, a blank recall claim form will be sent, which must be filled out according to the sample pictured on the next page.
Recall repairs cannot be claimed on a regular warranty claim form.
Claim Completion Instructions
Fill in the blanks as shown in the sample on the next page. Make sure that the owner and your dealership signs the form.
