Catalytic Converter - Alignment Precautions

The outlet pipe flange of all 1981 and up catalytic converters is not centered in the rear of the converter shell. Therefore, care must be exercised while installing to ensure proper placement in the tunnel heat shield.
The position of the rear flange and shell seam is shown as viewed from the rear. Installed in this position proper ground clearance will be maintained.
Note:
Be sure to check for proper clearance of all exhaust system components before lowering car.
