Steering Gear Replace
1. If equipped with power steering, clamp each hose on oil reservoir.
2. If equipped with power steering, disconnect pipes on rotating valve from reservoir and high pressure pump.
3. Raise and support front of vehicle.
4. Remove tie rod end nuts.
5. Remove steering universal joint key bolt and disconnect universal joint, marking its position in relation to splines of steering pinion.
6. Remove four rack housing bolts on crossmember.
7. Remove entire steering rack assembly through hole on cowl side.
8. Reverse procedure to install, torquing ball joint assembly nut to 30 ft.lbs. and tie rod locknut to 26 ft.lbs.
