Left Side Inner Boot & CV Joint


1. Remove spider retaining snap ring, then, using suitable tools remove spider.
2. Using tool T.Ar. 65, or equivalent, and suitable press, remove boot and bearing assembly.
3. Position replacement boot and bearing assembly on shaft. Do not use hammer to install boot and bearing assembly or shaft spider. Use suitable press and specified tools only.

4. Using tool T.Av. 944, or equivalent, and suitable press, press boot and bearing assembly onto shaft. Bearing is correctly positioned when end of tool is flush with end of shaft, Fig. 14. Length of tool automatically sets position of bearing so that dimension G is 5.846 ± .008 inches (148.5 ± .2 mm).

5. Support driveshaft in suitable press with tool T.Ar. 65 or equivalent and position tool jaws at groove (H) Fig. 15, to avoid damaging CV joint.
6. Using suitable press, install spider on shaft, then install spider retaining snap ring.
