Trailing arm
1. The pressure pieces and the hollow plunger-type hydraulic press VAS 6178 are used for removal. Screw a suitable attachment from assembly tool set T10205 into the hydraulic press. Screw a suitable assembly fixture T10230 onto the threaded rod from assembly tool set T10230/14-16 and assembly tool set T10230/50-54 and position the required attachment when pressing bearings out and in.
2. Before pressing out the bearing -3-, mark the installation position using a suitable marker -arrow-.
Mark the trailing arm -arrow- for this purpose in the cut-out for the bearing using a suitable marker.
Installation position of bearing 3
The following pressure pieces and nuts are required for pressing out bearing -3-:
Pressing out:
* T10230/15
* T10230/51
* T10230/52
* T10230/53
* T10230/54
Arrangement of tools for pressing out bearing 3
When pressing in the bearing -3- pay close attention to the installation position marking -arrow-. The cut-out for the bearing must be positioned horizontally in the trailing arm.

Information
Dimension -X-: lower edge of wing to center of axle (shown as an example)
* All screws and bolts on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle resting on its wheels, or the wheel suspension is lifted with a universal jack. -Dimension X- from lower edge of wing to center of axle corresponds to vehicle position. For the current height values, please refer to the adjustment values for suspension alignment.
* Visually inspect all parts.
* Replace self-locking nuts.
* Replace all expansion screws (screws fitted using torque angle tightening procedure).
* Use correct tightening torques and torque angle.
1. Install lower trailing arm.
