Removing compressor/condenser line
WARNING
Refrigerant
- Danger of freezing
-> Avoid contact with refrigerant.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and dealing with refrigerant.
-> Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.
-> Observe the instructions for repairing air conditioning systems and storing spare parts.
Information
Once you have disconnected the compressor, get another mechanic to hold it securely to prevent if from falling down.
Installation position of compressor/condenser line
1. Unscrew the fastening screw for the pressure line -arrow A- and pull the pressure line out of the condenser -arrow B-.

2. Unclip the holder for the pressure line and disengage the pressure line.

3. Disconnect the compressor. -> 873419 Removing and installing air conditioning compressor - section on "Removing"
4. Once you have disconnected the compressor, get another mechanic to hold it securely to prevent if from falling down.
5. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- for the pressure line to the compressor and pull out the pressure line -arrow C-.

6. Carefully pull the pressure line up and off.
Installing compressor/condenser line
Information
Before re-installing the component, check the O-rings of the refrigerant lines for damage and replaced them if necessary.
Wet the O-rings of the refrigerant lines with refrigerant oil.
Do not open the plugs for the lines and connections until shortly before installation.
Close off all lines and connections using suitable plugs during removal.
1. Engage the pressure line in the rubber mountings.

2. Carefully fit the pressure line into the compressor -arrow D- and secure with the fastening screw -1-.

=> Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
3. Secure the compressor. -> 873419 Removing and installing air conditioning compressor - section on "Installing"
4. Close and engage holder for rubber mounting.

5. Fit the pressure line into the condenser -arrow E- and secure with the fastening screw -arrow F-.

=> Tightening torque: 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)
Subsequent work
1. Install cover for front underbody. -> 519219 Removing and installing cover for front underbody - section on "Installing" 519219 Removing and installing Cover For Front Underbody
2. Install cover for front lock support. -> 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support - section on "Installing" 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support
3. Fill in refrigerant. -> 870317 Draining and filling refrigerant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair
