Technical values
Removing seal for roof assembly
- Remove roof joint cover strip -> 663619 Removing and installing roof joint cover strip - section on "Removing" 663619 Removing and installing roof joint cover strip
1. Open roof panel 1.
2. Pull off seal.
2.1. Pull off seal -1- on both sides of the vehicle, starting from the rear -arrow A-.
Use a sharp knife to help detach the seal.

2.2. Pull off seal -1- at the front edge of the roof assembly -arrows B-.

3. Clean bonding surfaces with isopropanol.

4. Apply primer to the plastic surfaces and leave to dry off.=> Time: 10 minutes

Removing inner seal for roof assembly
Installation position of inner seal for roof assembly
1. Open roof assembly completely.
2. Pull off inner seal.
2.1. Pull off inner seal -1- starting from the front -arrows-.
Use a sharp knife to help detach the seal.

3. Clean bonding surfaces with isopropanol.
Move roof panel 3 into ventilation position to clean the bonding surfaces in the rear area.

Installing seal for roof assembly
1. Attach seal.
1.1. Attach seal to the front edge of the assembly.

1.2. Attach seal to the sides of the roof assembly and press it down firmly.
Fitting seal
The seal must engage in the roof assembly and must be flush at the rear edge.
2. Stick on seal.
2.1. Carefully raise the front corners of the seal -arrow C- and pull out the protective film -2- on the adhesive tape backwards under the seal -arrow D-.

2.2. Press seal down firmly on the roof assembly.
3. Close roof panel 1.

Installation position of inner seal for roof assembly
1. Open roof assembly completely.
2. Position inner seal.
2.1. First push inner seal -1- under the fixed roof panel -arrow A- and then position the inner seal -1- exactly starting from the front.
2.2. Align the inner seal -1- at the front edge flush with the seal -2- ( -arrow B- ) and press it against the contour of the roof assembly -3- over its entire length -arrow C-.

Information
Pull off protective film from the adhesive tape in sections and at the same time press the seal onto the roof assembly with the help of another person.
3. Stick on inner seal.
3.1. Carefully lift the front end of the inner seal -1- ( -arrow A- ) and pull the protective film on the adhesive tape out backwards under the inner seal -1- ( -arrow B- ).
3.2. Press inner seal -1- down firmly on the roof assembly -2- ( -arrows C- ).
3.3. Move roof panel 3 into ventilation position.
3.4. Pull protective film on the adhesive tape out backwards under the inner seal -1- ( -arrow B- ).
3.5. Press inner seal -1- down firmly on the roof assembly -arrows C-.
