Removing And Installing Fabric Lining
Preliminary work
1. Preliminary work for removing front fabric lining.
1.1. Remove trim panel for sliding/lifting roof. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for sliding/lifting roof.
2. Preliminary work for removing rear right fabric lining.
2.1. Remove front right fabric lining. Refer to Removing and installing fabric lining.
3. Preliminary work for removing rear left fabric lining.
3.1. Remove front left fabric lining. Refer to Removing and installing fabric lining.
CAUTION: Risk of damage to roof assembly when removed.
- Placing the roof assembly on a level surface can damage the roof assembly frame.
- Only work on the removed roof assembly when the roof assembly is mounted on the assembly fixture. Refer to Mounting roof assembly on assembly fixture.
3.2. Remove roof assembly. Refer to Removing and installing roof assembly.
3.3. Mount roof assembly on assembly fixture. Refer to Mounting roof assembly on assembly fixture.
Removing fabric lining
Removing front fabric lining
1. Pull top connection seal -1- out of the plastic cover -2- in -direction of arrow-.
2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on the plastic cover -2-. Lift the plastic cover up slightly and loosen the bead -arrow-.
3. Disengage plastic cover -1- from the metal clip -2- (-arrow A-) and detach at the roof frame -3- by pulling it forward -arrow B-.
4. Open sliding roof cover.
5. Pull the fabric lining -1- out of the roof profile in -direction of arrow-.
Removing rear fabric lining
INFORMATION:
- The procedure described here relates to the right fabric lining.
- The wire harness for the sun blind is integrated in the left fabric lining. The procedure for removing and installing the left fabric lining is described in the section relating to the wire harness for the sun blind. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for roof assembly.
1. Detach the rear fabric lining at the drive.
1.1. Cut tie-wrap -1- at the water drain hose -2-. Pull the water drain hose -2- out of the bracket -arrow A-.
1.2. Pull off retainer -3- using a pointed-nose pliers and detach fabric lining -4- at the bolt on the drive -arrow B-.
2. Pull fabric lining -1- with bottom connection seal backwards out of the guide in -direction of arrow-.
3. Pull fabric lining -1- with top connection seal forward out of the guide in -direction of arrow-.
Installing fabric lining
1. Pull fabric lining -1- with top connection seal backwards into the guide in -direction of arrow-.
2. Pull fabric lining -1- with bottom connection seal forward into the guide in -direction of arrow-.
3. Attach the rear fabric lining at the drive.
3.1. Attach the fabric lining -4- at the bolt on the drive -arrow A-.
3.2. Push the retainer -3- into the groove of the bolt on the drive using a pointed-nose pliers.
3.3. Engage water drain hose -2- in the bracket -arrow B- and secure with a tie-wrap -1-.
Installing front fabric lining
1. Pull the connection seal of the fabric lining -1- into the roof profile -arrow-.
2. Pull the connection seal of the fabric lining -1- into the plastic cover -2- (-arrow-) until the plastic cover -2- is exposed by only -dimension X= 60 mm-.
3. Guide plastic cover -1- at the front into the roof assembly -2- (-arrow A-) and push in the metal clip -3- (-arrow B-).
4. Secure plastic cover -2- at the rear with the fastening screw.
5. Pull the fabric lining -1- forward -arrow A- until the plastic cover -2 - is covered. Lift the plastic cover up slightly and fit the bead -arrow B-.
Subsequent work
1. Carry out subsequent work on rear right fabric lining.
1.1. Install front right fabric lining.Refer to Removing and installing fabric lining.
2. Carry out subsequent work on rear left fabric lining.
2.1. Install roof assembly. Refer to Removing and installing roof assembly.
2.2. Install front left fabric lining. Refer to Removing and installing fabric lining.
3. Carry out subsequent work on front fabric lining.
3.1. Install trim panel for sliding/lifting roof. Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for sliding/lifting roof.
