Removing and installing clutch








Preliminary work

1. Remove transmission.

1. Counter at the flywheel.





Toothed segment

Secure the toothed segment 9538/1 to the crankcase using an M12 x 50 hexagon-head bolt.

Information:
The toothed segment 9538/1 must be bored to 15 mm diameter to guarantee a perfect fit and to avoid damaging the thread in the crankcase.

Information:
To avoid deforming the clutch pressure plate, always loosen fastening screws in at least five steps and in diagonally opposite sequence.

2. Detach thrust plate.
3. Remove thrust plate and drive plate.

Removing clutch

Information:
The toothed segment 9538/1 must be bored to 15 mm diameter to guarantee a perfect fit and to avoid damaging the thread in the crankcase.

1. Fasten toothed segment 9538/1 to the crankcase with an M12 x 50 hexagon-head bolt.





Toothed segment

Information:
To avoid deforming the clutch pressure plate, always loosen fastening screws in at least five steps and in diagonally opposite sequence.

Information:
When loosening the clutch pressure plate, ensure that the stop on the adjustment mechanism -arrow- is detached from the housing. The stop must dip loosely into the housing as far as the block. Press the stop towards the flywheel, if necessary.

2. Detach pressure plate.
3. Remove pressure plate and drive plate.

Installing clutch

Information:
^ Clean the friction surfaces of the flywheel and pressure plate prior to installation, e.g. with brake cleaner.
^ Surfaces of friction linings must be free from contamination, especially oil and grease.

1. Centering mandrel 9102 with drive plate must be inserted into the guide bearing (needle sleeve).

Information:
To avoid deforming the clutch pressure plate, tighten fastening screws in at least 5 steps and in diametrically opposite sequence.

Always replace fastening screws.

2. Fit pressure plate.





3. Remove centering mandrel.
4. Toothed segment 9538/1 can then be removed.

Subsequent work

1. Install transmission.
