Vehicle Type:
Boxster
Model Year:
As of 1997 (V)
Concern:
Service installation of sport seat(s).
Information:
A sport bucket seat has been developed and approved for the Boxster. The seat cover of the sport seat is available in two variants:
1. Seat cover of perforated leather, available in interior color
2. Seat cover of flame-retardant fabric, black only (i.e. regulation for racing events)
The sport seat does not have provisions for: adjustable height, lumbar support, or backrest adjustment. Longitudinal adjustment (fore/aft seat position) is only available as a manual adjustment. Additionally, seat memory and seat heating junctions cannot be used with the sport bucket seat.
A Porsche child seat can be fitted on the passenger's side sport seat. In this case the deactivation bar with belt buckle (for deactivating the passenger side dashboard and door airbags) must be fitted on front of the passenger seat, in the usual manner. Also the child seat occupancy must be activated with the PST2 (refer to Technical Information Bulletin, Group 6, No. 9/98).
Sport bucket seats are available on new Boxsters (in leather) under Exclusive options: XSE (left sport seat) and XSF (right sport seat).
Warning!
Always observe all local laws and ordinances!
