Concern:

Repairs to Boxster Manual Transmission (G 86) now authorized.

Filing:

Affix the attached decal across page 37 in Technical Bulletin Book N, and remove Boxster Bulletin Group 3, # 9701, dated 2-4-97 from the Boxster Technical Manual volume 3.

Information:

Effective immediately, repairs (including internal) to the Boxster manual transmission are authorized. Previous Technical Information Bulletin, Group 3, Number 9701 which limits repairs to external components is no longer valid.

This information supersedes all previous information regarding manual transmission repairing on the Boxster.

DSM approval is no longer required to repair the Boxster manual transmission. However, DSM approval is still required before replacing a complete transmission.

Follow the repair procedures described in the Boxster Technical Manual when performing repairs to the manual transmission.
