CDC-3 CHANGER INSTALLATION
- Set the CD changer mounting knobs to the vertical position and install the changer into the mounting frame.
- Remove the luggage compartment carpet and disconnect the battery.
- Loosen the cable harness on the left frame rail and move the harness out of the way of the CD changer mount.
- Locate the CD changer on the frame rail approximately 85 mm from the cover for the front lid lock and mark the 4 mounting holes (Figure 1).
- Drill the 4 mounting holes with a 9 mm drill and install the 4 nutserts.
- Remove the carpet and floor plate from the driver's side foot well area and drill a 20 mm hole just above the clutch pedal and approximately 20 mm to the right of the luggage compartment cable. Paint any bare metal to prevent corrosion (Figure 2).
- Route the CD changer cable from the CD changer, through the hole, along the main wiring harness to the radio. Install the cable grommet into the hole and ensure a correct fit.
- Reinstall the carpet and floor plate for the driver's foot well area.
- Remove the radio and connect the changer cable to the radio. Reinstall the radio.
- Reinstall the luggage compartment carpet.
- Route the CD changer cable between the body and left frame member to the inside. Determine the location for the cable clamps and make the necessary cuts in the carpet.
- Connect the CD changer cable to the CD changer. Slide the cable clamps through the carpet slots and mount the CD changer onto the frame member using four M6 bolts.
- Reconnect the battery and reset the time clock and radio code.
- Completely reinstall the luggage compartment carpet and install the CD changer cover.
- Test the system.
