Dynamometer Testing

ATTENTION: Service Manager / Service Technician

Model Affected:
911 Turbo Model Year 1996- on

General Information:

The new 911 Turbo must not be tested on a chassis dynamometer for the following reasons:

- Because of insufficient air cooling for the charge air system, high air charging temperatures could build up. As a result, the engine output would reduce and possibly overheat the engine.

- Transmission damages could also occur from the generated hot temperatures.

- Due to the high power output, the tires can slip resulting in wrong measurements and possible tire damage. Such tire damage may not be immediately detected.
