Subject:
Front Brake Disc Bolted Connections

ATTENTION: Service Manager / Service Technician

Models Affected:
911 Turbo Model Year 1996

General Information:
The front brake discs are assembled from two separate parts using bolts to form a single part. In case of replacement, only the complete brake disc is offered.

Important:
The brake disc/disc hub assembly must never be separated at the bolted connections. Do not attempt to turn or tighten the bolts even if they appear loose.

When the brake disc is manufactured, the bolts are installed through distance bushings that are crushed when the bolts are tightened (8 Nm). Even with the correct tightening torque of 8 Nm, it may be possible to turn the bolts/bushings a few degrees. This appearance of looseness is considered normal.

It is most important that the torque of the bolts is not changed as this could lead to a negative influence on brake noise.
