M.Y. 1993 Maintenance Requirements
ATTENTION:
Service Manager/Service Technician
This Technical Bulletin contains suggested repair times and the maintenance schedules for 1993 model 968, 911 Carrera 2 and 4, RS America and 928 GTS.
Also included is a recommended yearly maintenance schedule for vehicles with low yearly mileage to be performed between two required service intervals.
The first service must be performed at customer's expense. First service expenses for 1993 model year vehicles are not a warranty matter.
OPERATION MAINTENANCE SERVICE
2,000 - 2,500 MILE MAINTENANCE SERVICE
YEARLY SERVICE FOR VEHICLES WITH LOW YEARLY MILEAGE
MAINTENANCE SERVICE EVERY 15,000 MILES
ADDITIONAL SERVICE EVERY 30,000 MILES
The service intervals apply under normal driving conditions. If a customer drives mainly in dusty areas, check the air cleaner element more often and replace if necessary. The conditions of oil, and wear-and-tear items (such as tires, brakes, clutch lining) depend greatly on the amount of driving and on driving habits. Therefore, oil and wear-and-tear items should be checked more frequently and, if necessary, replaced at shorter intervals. A service should be performed at least once a year, preferably before winter (see "Recommended Yearly Service"). The same applies to protective undercoating for the vehicle. The maintenance points stated above are valid for all vehicle types of the model line in question.
