ATTENTION: Service Manager/Service Technician

Models Affected: 911 Turbo - Model Year '91 (M)

Concern: Radio interference (whistling) from alternator possible on certain vehicles.

Vehicle Information: An interference suppression filter is installed on the engine compartment fuse/relay board from production date: April 4, 1991
VIN: 96 - MS 48 0429 (Figure 1, arrows A and B)


Service Information: The interference suppression filter can be installed on 911 Turbos 91 (M) model year prior to the above VIN when diagnosing radio interference from altemator complaints.

Work Procedure: 1. Remove fuse /relay board cover. Intercooler remains installed.

2. Install clip-nut (Fig. 3, arrow E) Part Number 999 507 330 02 in fuse/relay board cutout (Fig. 3, arrow F)

3. Install interference suppression filter. Make sure interference suppression filter clip (Figure 2, arrow C) engages properly on fuse/relay board carrier plate. Screw captive bolt (Figure 2, arrow D) into clip-nut. Wiring and wiring tie strap end should be pushed away from interference suppression filter to ease installation.

4. Connect existing two pin wiring plug on interference suppression filter plug.

5. Reinstall fuse /relay board cover.
