General Information

This is to notify you of a voluntary Recall Campaign which involves 975 Porsche 911 Turbo vehicles of the model year 1989.

Under certain driving conditions, resulting in full suspension travel, the brake pad sensor wiring bracket on the left suspension arm could contact and possibly damage the fuel hose, Part Number 930 356 068 02 leading to the rear fuel pump. If the hose is worn through, leaking fuel could ignite.

The fuel hose must be checked, re-routed and if damaged, replaced. The VIN ranges of the affected vehicles in this Recall are:

WP0EB093_KS060061 to WP0EB093_KS060102
WP0EB093_KS070061 to WP0EB093_KS070542





The fuel hose routing is changed as shown.

Customer Notification

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. will notify all known owners of vehicles within the Recall VIN range directly by first class mail during the week of July 1, 1991, or as soon as sufficient quantity of part are at the dealerships. See enclosed copy of letter to these consumers. A listing of all vehicles with owner's name and address in your area, within the Recall VIN ranges, will be sent to you shortly.

If a vehicle within the Recall VIN ranges is in your dealership for service/repair or in dealer inventory the Recall Campaign should be performed without delay.

In addition, to minimize the inconvenience to Porsche Owners with vehicles involved in this Recall Campaign you are authorized to provide a rental car for one day. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. will reimburse you up to $30.00 for the one day car rental.

THE FUEL HOSES ON ALL 1989 MODEL YEAR 911 TURBO PORSCHES WITHIN THE AFORE LISTED VIN'S ARE TO BE INSPECTED AND RE-ROUTED AS PER WORK PROCEDURE "A" OR INSPECTED AND REPLACED AS PER WORK PROCEDURE "B".

Parts Requirement





Parts required to perform this Recall Campaign will be shipped to you this week. This initial quantity of parts shipped to your dealership will be based on approximately 50% of the vehicles in your area. Additional parts, after this allocation of 50%, should be ordered on a need-to-have basis through your Porsche Cars N.A Parts Customer Service at the Reno PDC.

Time Allowance

A. 40 TU for inspecting and re-routing the fuel hose as described in the work procedure "A".

B. 130 TU for inspecting and replacing the fuel hose as described in the work procedure "B".
