Removal/Installation of Pedal Assembly
Removal- Move seat to rearmost position (to facilitate work) and remove carpet. Accelerator pedal pressure rod, pulling accelerator pedal backward.
- Remove floor plate. Mark installation position of accelerator pedal and remove accelerator pedal (to facilitate work).
- Remove circlip and disengage throttle pull rod from reversing lever. Disconnect brake pressure rod from footbrake lever. Relieve pressure on footbrake lever return spring.
- Remove clutch pressure rod from actuating lever. Relieve pressure on clutch servo spring, moving clutch pedal forward slowly holding pedal pad. This prevents the servo spring forcing the pedal forward suddenly. Push servo spring to the left out of the adjuster cam range.
Disconnect pull bar and clutch master cylinder from pedal bracket (hydraulic line remains connected). Remove mounting nuts of pedal bracket.
- Remove guard from auxiliary front axle support. Remove the two front securing nuts of the pedal bracket.
- Remove the pedal bracket.
Installation
- Position pedal bracket in car. Torque the 4 securing nuts to, 17 Nm (12 ft lb). Tighten the 2 front nuts first.
- Attach pull bar and bearing tube for footbrake lever to pedal bracket.
- Attach return spring for footbrake lever. Attach brake pressure rod to footbrake lever and throttle pull rod to reversing lever.
- Push servo spring into correct position (arm behind collar of adjusting cam) and pretension servo spring, pulling clutch lever to the rear. Attach clutch pressure rod to actuating lever.
- Once cylinder has been aligned, tighten master-cylinder securing nuts or pressure rod to actuating lever (depress clutch).
- Install pedal plate. If necessary (if parts concerned have been renewed) check pedal travel and correct if necessary. Check full-load position of throttle valve (min. 1 mm play - when accelerator pedal fully depressed) and correct if necessary.
