Disassembly/Assembly of Pedal Assembly
Disassembly- Drive dowels out of clutch pedal shaft. If necessary (if dowels are very tight), support lever shaft to prevent deformation.
- Remove clutch pedal shaft.
- Remove bearing tube for footbrake lever.
- Remove servo spring bearing shaft.
Assembly
- Check levers, bearing shafts, bearings, circlips, springs, all sleeves and pins, replace if necessary.
- If necessary, use a suitable mandrel to press or drive bearing for clutch pedal shaft slightly deeper than flush (arrows).
- Install servo spring with lever lugs in pedal bracket.
- Install footbrake lever with sleeves and return spring. Push bearing tube into position.
- Align lever for clutch pressure rod for installation of clutch pedal shaft. Insert clutch pedal shaft right way round.
- Mount clutch pedal on pedal shaft. Drive in dowels. Install dowel in clutch lever first, countering to prevent deformation of the shaft. The clutch lever may also be mounted on the shaft before the clutch pedal shaft is installed (better support for driving in the dowel)
NOTE: Use only double rolled dowels It is not permissible to use single rolled dowels from other cars or from earlier models.
