This bulletin replaces Special Tools Bulletin Number 8915, dated 12-12-89 which has been deleted.

Special Tool 9292 is used for converting the clutch release lever shaft bearings to the new version of the 911 Carrera 2/4, model year '90.

Transmissions involved are the G50 versions 00, 01, 02 from model year 1987 through 1989.

When performing any transmission and/or clutch repair on the above mentioned transmissions, special tool 9292 must be used to modify the bell housing to accept the new version of the release shaft needle bearings.

For the correct application of this tool, refer to Technical Bulletin Book F, Group 3, Number 8902, page 71.

Although this tool is not a minimum requirement, it must be used to perform this repair. It can be obtained by rental or purchase.
