A plastic spacer (2 mm) is installed on some vehicles between the rear axle cross tube and the spring plate to compensate for body tolerances. This prevents contact between the spring plate mounting bolts and the vehicle body.

This spacer is usually installed on one side only. During repairs the spacer has to be reinstalled.
