Cut two lengths, four feet long of 16 gauge electrical wire. Pair the wires with electrical tape.
Crimp two connectors, Part Number N 0172431, to one end of the paired wires and install connectors on terminals 1 and 3 of switch, Part Number 911 613 113 00.
From the above illustration, select an unused switch location on the vehicle dash board. Locate the existing hole behind fabric and carefully remove fabric with a razor knife.
Feed switch wires through opening in dash and route with hands-free microphone cable to the right side of the center console.
Locate the 2-wire multi-plug on the Fujitsu harness and cut off the plug. Join the wires from the power switch to the two wires of the Fujitsu harness. Insulate these connections with heat-shrink tubing.
Install switch in opening of dash. Reinstall large left instrument. Seal the inside grommet with silicone after routing cable.
8. Mounting phone to center console
Place the cellular telephone mounting cradle, hands-free speaker, mounting bracket and screws on a table or bench.
Using the supplied mounting screws, attach the handsfree speaker to the cellular telephone mounting cradle.
Attach the mounting bracket to the hands-free speaker.
Insert the data cable from the hands-free speaker and the three pin vehicle adapter into the mounting cradle.
Install the hands-free microphone plug into the hands-free speaker jack.
Pull the "3 switch group" from the center console and remove the spoiler/PDAS switches.
Hold the telephone cradle against the passenger side of the center console. Align the telephone cradle at the same angle as the "3 switch group." (See photo)
Drill four 1/8 inch holes through the mounting bracket into the carpeted section of the center console.
Important:
Ensure adequate clearance of switches and wiring harnesses from mounting screw ends.
Using the supplied screws, attach the telephone cradle to the center console.
9. Installing antenna TNC coax connector
After removing the excess antenna coax cable, connect the antenna TNC connector as shown. Special crimping pliers are required for connector installation.
Crimp tool 3151CCT from Sargent tools or equivalent can be purchased from Tessco Co., telephone number (800) 638-7666.
After crimping is complete, install TNC antenna connector into the telephone cradle. Consult the Fujitsu Owner's Manual for hints on coding and telephone activation.
Warning:
To prevent damage to the electronic components, DO NOT disconnect or connect the Porsche Fujitsu Cellular Phone curly cord with the power switched on. Turn the ignition off.
