FIGURE 1:
The engine mounts have been modified to increase the life expectancy. Hydraulic engine mount failure can be recognized through excessive engine vibrations.

Old - 944.375.042.01
For better identification of the new version, the rubber has been painted "Gray". However, at first, mounts were installed which still have the old part number imprinted and were painted gray. These mounts are also of the latest version.

To further reduce temperature on the mounts 4 mm washers were installed under the mounts to have a flow-through ventilation.
If engine mount failure occurs on vehicles produced before VIN 94DN460287, make the following modifications when replacing mount:

Lower engine cover, modification

- Raise vehicle.
- Remove lower engine cover.
- Place cover on suitable support (wooden blocks).
- Modify right front louver by bending upwards (Fig. 4).
- Flare sharp rear lip of louver downwards to form a good air inlet.

Heatshield Modification
- remove right engine mount heatshield
- using illustration as guide (Fig. 5) cut heatshield to form flap.
Fig. 6:
- bend flap back approx. 45~
- roundoff corners and de-burr edges.

Washers & Engine Mount
- Install steel or plastic washers between engine mount and support bracket (Fig. 2) using longer bolts.
- Reinstall heatshield
- Reinstall lower engine cover
- Lower vehicle.
