With Fixed Guide Tube

NOTE: Because of the ability to interchange Porsche transmissions, it is possible to find a fixed guide tube transmission in a later model.

Removal
- Remove transaxle and detach transmission from engine.





- Screw puller P 386 firmly into the oil seal.
- Pull oil seal out by turning the hex. bolt in the puller.





NOTE: If the (garter) spring should slide off during removal of the seal, pull it off the input shaft with the aid of a wire hook.

INSTALLATION





- Push installation sleeve P 382 onto the input shaft splines.





- Lightly oil the sealing lip of the oil seal and push the seal onto the installation sleeve.





- Drive oil seal into its seat with the aid of driver P 381.

NOTE: Pre 1976 transmissions must be disassembled to replace the seal.
