Thermostatic Air Cleaner: Testing and Inspection

1. Check that hot air flap is open when engine is cold by looking through bypass hole in regulator housing.

2. Run engine at approximately 2500 RPM for 3-4 minutes and check that the hot air flap is closed.

3. If hot air flap does not operate properly, replace regulator housing.

NOTE: The thermostat is integral with the regulator housing, therefore the entire unit must be replaced.
