50. Intake Camshaft Installation
Camshaft Installation - Intake1. Install the intake camshaft onto the cylinder head with the number 1 cam lobes facing as shown.
Important: Each bearing cap has a number and a directional arrow marked on the bearing cap.
2. Install the camshaft bearing caps in their proper locations with the arrows facing forward.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the camshaft bearing cap bolts.
^ Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the camshaft timing gear and camshaft bearing cap.
^ Tighten the camshaft timing gear and bearing cap bolts to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the intake camshaft sprocket to the camshaft.
6. Install the intake camshaft sprocket bolt to the camshaft.
^ Tighten the cam sprocket bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
