Head Up Display Replacement

HEAD UP DISPLAY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Pull the I/P accessory trim plate rearward slightly for access to the steering column filler. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory.
2. Remove the I/P steering column opening filler.
3. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate.
4. Remove the instrument cluster.
5. Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings.
6. Remove the I/P upper trim panel.

NOTE:
- Use the following method to disengage the Head Up Display (HUD) retainers. Do NOT pry the retainers with a flat-bladed tool or other similar device.
1. Disengage the I/P upper trim panel retainers on the sides of the HUD.
2. Disengage the retainer rearward of the HUD.
- Failure to follow this method could break the tab on the HUD.




7. Remove the HUD screw.




8. Remove the HUD bolts.




9. Adjust the HUD for access. Disconnect the HUD electrical connector.
10. Remove the HUD

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the HUD electrical connector. Lower the HUD into the I/P opening.




2. Start the HUD bolts by hand to avoid cross threading. Install the HUD bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Install the HUD screw.

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. If a new HUD was installed remove the protective plastic sheet from the glass.
5. Install the I/P upper trim panel.
6. Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings.
7. Install the instrument cluster.
8. Install the I/P cluster trim plate.
9. Install the I/P steering column opening filler.
10. Install the I/P accessory trim plate.
