Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump Flow Control Valve Replacement - On VehicleRemoval Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle.
3. Remove the right front engine splash shield.
4. Remove the bolt (2) from the power steering pump outlet pipe bracket.
5. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the draining fluid.

6. Remove the outlet pipe fitting (1) from the pump.
7. Remove the outlet union from the pump.
8. Remove the gasket.
9. Remove the flow control valve from the pump.
10. Remove the spring from the pump.
11. Inspect the spring. Replace the spring if necessary.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in Service Precautions.
Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice
1. Apply fluid to the spring.
2. Install the spring to the pump.
3. Apply fluid to the flow control valve.
4. Install the flow control valve to the pump.
5. Apply fluid to the gasket.
6. Install the gasket to the union.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the union to the pump.
Tighten the union to 69 Nm (50.9 ft. lbs.).

8. Install the outlet pipe fitting (1) to the pump.
Tighten the fitting to 41 Nm (30.2 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the outlet pipe clamp bolt (2).
Tighten the bolt to 7.8 Nm (69.04 inch lbs.).
10. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly to the vehicle.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Fill the reservoir.
13. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Repair as necessary.
14. Install the right front engine splash shield.

15. Bleed the power steering system.
