Park Brake Cable Replacement- Left Rear- Tools Required
- J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the equalizer nut from the equalizer stud, which is part of the left rear cable.
4. Disconnect the left park brake cable from the park brake lever.
5. Use J 37043 to depress the retaining tabs (1) on the left park brake cable.
6. Remove the left park brake cable from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Press the left park brake cable into the bracket. Ensure that the locking tabs (1) are properly seated.
2. Connect the left park brake cable to the park brake lever.
3. Install the equalizer stud to the equalizer nut, which is part of the equalizer assembly.
4. Adjust the park brake system. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment.
5. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
6. Lower the vehicle.
