Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve pipe and the vacuum supply hose.




4. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve on the intake manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the purge valve retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Connect the purge valve electrical connector.
4. Connect the canister purge valve pipe and the vacuum supply hose.
