Park Brake Cable Replacement - Rear (Disc Brakes)

- J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the rear brake cable at the equalizer (3).
3. Using the J 37043 remove the cable from the mounting bracket (2).





4. Remove the parking brake cable retaining clip (1).
5. Disconnect the cable (2) from the actuator lever.
6. Remove the parking brake cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Place the cable in position.
2. Install the cable on the actuator lever.
3. Install the parking brake cable retaining clip (1).





4. Install the cable to the cross member.
5. Connect the rear brake cable at the equalizer (3).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Adjust the parking brake.
