Vacuum Brake Booster Check Valve: Service and Repair
Vacuum Brake Booster Check Valve and/or Hose ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the fuel rail cover from the left side of the engine.
2. Compress the hose clamp (4) and move the hose clamp away from the booster fitting.
3. Hold the booster fitting and twist the brake booster hose (3) in order to separate the hose from the fitting.
4. Compress the hose clamp (2) and move the hose clamp away from the intake manifold fitting.
5. Hold the intake manifold fitting and twist the hose in order to remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the 2 hose clamps to the brake booster hose (3).
2. Align the hose to the intake manifold fitting. Ensure the blue alignment dot (1) on the hose is facing upward.
3. Install the hose to the intake manifold fitting.
4. Compress the hose clamp (2) and move the hose clamp past the wider portion of the fitting. Release the hose clamp on the narrow portion of the fitting in order to retain the hose to the fitting.
5. Install the hose to the booster fitting.
6. Compress the hose clamp (4) and move the hose clamp past the wider portion of the fitting. Release the hose clamp on the narrow portion of the fitting in order to retain the hose to the fitting.
7. Install the fuel rail cover to the left side of the engine.
